3000 Indigenous people in ten communities within the Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State benefited from a food security outreach recently organised by a reputable non-governmental organisation, The Kingsley Obiukwu Foundation (KOF).
With the food security outreach, KOF, ensured that families had access to nutritious meals, contributing to better health outcomes and overall well-being.
The foundation’s founder, business tycoon Kingsley Obiukwu, told reporters in an interview that the organisation proudly supports food security initiatives by providing food to thousands of people in each of the ten towns that make up the Nnewi South Local Government Area.
Obiukwu stated that the foundation’s initiative not only addresses immediate food needs but also implements targeted programs to raise awareness about food security issues and promote sustainable practices. By educating community members about topics such as nutrition, agriculture, and food waste reduction, KOF is empowering individuals to take control of their own food security and make informed decisions for themselves and their families.
“Overall, the impact of KOF’s initiatives extends far beyond the distribution of food. It is about empowering communities, fostering resilience, and creating a brighter future for the people of Anambra State.
“Through our tireless efforts and dedication, KOF is making a tangible difference in the lives of thousands of individuals and laying the groundwork for a more food-secure and prosperous community,” Obiukwu said.
As part of its 7 initiatives, KOF diligently works to ensure communities have access to affordable sustenance. From food distribution and bolstering agricultural productivity to aiding small-scale farmers and executing targeted programs to combat food insecurity.
“Through its efforts to enhance agricultural productivity and support small-scale farmers, KOF is empowering local agricultural communities, by providing resources, training, and support, KOF is also enabling farmers to increase their yields and income, thereby improving their livelihoods and economic stability.
“KOF’s initiatives are not just about providing immediate relief but also about fostering long-term community development by working hand-in-hand with community leaders, volunteers, and youth groups, thereby building a sense of solidarity and collective responsibility within these communities.
“This collaboration not only strengthens social cohesion but also lays the foundation for sustainable development initiatives in the future,” Obiukwu said.
