The saying charity begins at home was recently brought to life as Nigerian businessman, Kingsley Obiukwu, agreed to sponsor education and food security projects in his community; Nnewi South LGA, Anambra State.
The young entrepreneur who is the Executive Director, Bolton White Group, made this known speaking at the Nnewi South LGA youth stakeholders’ meeting which was held recently.
Obiukwu pledged free adult education in Mathematics and English for individuals aged 25 and above in Nnewi South LGA, Anambra State. He also promised to alleviate food insecurity for 30,000 individuals (10,000 per year) across Nnewi’s three Local Government Areas (LGAs) over a three-year by distributing 10kg of rice to the identified beneficiaries in Nnewi South LGA.
He stated that this intervention will address the food insecurity and education challenges in the community.
“These initiatives have been developed to address the major concerns of the people. We are aware of the suffering of the people and making a difference in the lives of the people especially of my community is my primary goal. They are my people and I am one of them so to me it’s more of an obligation.
“Everyone has a part to play in the society. Through these initiatives, we are contributing our quota to elevate the lives of the people,” an enthused Obiukwu said.
Obiukwu is driven by a strong passion for philanthropy that has enabled him to impact thousands of people across the country, most especially his community.
Obiukwu is not new to philanthropic gestures, through his foundation; the Kingsley Obiukwu Foundation, he continuously donates to initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life of his people.
